Donald Charles Norlin, age 90, of 105 Pine Street, Munising, died on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 6:25 p.m. at Marquette General Hospital. He was born on October 4, 1918 in Munising to the late Algot and Ellen Norlin. Don was a 1936 graduate of Wm. G. Mather High School. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. After returning home Don began working as a mechanic at Cox Chevrolet, then operated Dons City Service which became Dons Citgo Service. He also worked at the Alger County Road Commission, and the Pictured Rock Cruises. He married Ruth Hebert on June 4, 1955. Don was member of Eden Lutheran Church, and was proud of his membership of over fifty years at the American Legion Roderick Prato Post 131.
He is survived by his wife of over fifty-three years Ruth Norlin; daughter Linda (Joe) Niedzwiecki of Munising; sons Charles (Karen Sundell) Norlin of Marquette and John Norlin of West Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren Chris, JB, Stuart, and Sara; and sister Elvira Dott. Don was preceded in death by his wife Bernadette Miron; parents Algot and Ellen; sister Ann Malone; and brother John Norlin.
