There younger children were left without there parents. I can't find where the parents are buried. Possible some history of the town would let me know what was happening in that time period. Town church's with cemetery, town forefather's, was there a local paper, is there a town historian. Sorry for so many question's hope you can help me....

GIBSON, WILLETT posted by Helen E. Bortz on Sunday, January 26, 1997

My great, great grandparents settled in Lyons before 1840 and they were one of two white families that moved west and started Montcalm Co. They were George GIBSON and Amelia WILLETT Gibson. Supposedly they died in Far Plains but are buried in Lyons (?). Some of the Gibson children were in the Greenville area. I am having difficulty finding information on either George or Amelia. Someone suggested (but haven't proven) that Amelia was a sister to Stephen Willet who was also settled in Lyons.
