Seeking to find descendants of Drewes and Klaas ZWART. Klaas ZWART was son of Drewes ZWART and came to Kalamazoo at age 23 in 1880. The father followed in 1888 when he was in his 60's. Both came from the village of Kantens in Groningen Province, Netherlands. Another son of Drewes named Harm also came to Kalamazoo & 2 children remained in Netherlands. Spouse of Drewes ZWART was Gertie BRANNY (prob.
BRANTJES) and suspect she died before he came to U.S. I have names of parents of Drewes also if I am lucky enough to connect up with other descendants with this posting. Klaas ZWART (1857-1915) m. Martha RUIMVELD (1855-1921) and they had the following children: Dick (1883- 1942), May, my grandmother (1884-1978), Abe (1887-1958), Grace (m. VADER), and Kate/Cornelia (1895-1963; m. Wm.
SOLLEVELD). I would especially love to hear from any cousins as I have lost touch with this side of the family.

I am looking for descendants of the BACON Family of Niles and Edwardsburg, Michigan.
I have transcribed the diary of a Dr. Cyrus BACON, Jr. which records his experiences as an army surgeon during the Civil War and includes geological data about the family. (The diary has been in the Michigan State Archives for the last 50 years. It was donated by a grandson then living in Minnesota, who apparently moved to California.)
Dr. BACON was a son of State Representative Cyrus BACON, and a nephew of Supreme Court Justice Nathaniel BACON. He was one of the first students at Olivet college and an honors graduate of the National Medical College now a part of George Washington University. He describes his experience at
Fredricksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg and the marches and sailings here and there, as well as his observations of Baltimore, Washington, New York and Newport. >From a descendant of another uncle of William Bacon, I have stories of other relatives, including a ship captain acquainted with pirates, and a hero of the French & Indian war.
The diary is 90 pages long, single spaced, and my annotations at this point are nearly as lengthy.
It is my hope that the diary can be placed on the internet with as much data as can be accumulated to explain the various matters which he mentions (most of which are quite cryptic.)
Any help you can give me in finding members of the family will be much appreciated. A picture of Cyrus or his wife Arabelle Knox would be a godsend!!
