WAITE, ARMINA (VAN WINKLE) - Battle Creek Daily Journal, Wednesday, May 24, 1899
Mrs. John E. Waite of Chillicothe Mo., who came here week ago to visit her brother, Edward VanWinkle, died at his home 8 Martha street early his morning of consumption. The body will be taken to her home for burial.

The funeral of Mrs. Waite, wife of Attorney J. E. Waite, Chillicothe, Mo., whose death was mentioned in our column yesterday, will occur on tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of her brother, Edward Van Winkle, Martha Street, Rev, Lewis Brown officiating. The service will begin promptly at this hour, to accommodate friend who are obliged to leave the city on the late afternoon trains . Interment will take place in the family lot at Oakhill.
WALLER, HATTIE  - Battle Creek Journal, Wednesday, November 29, 1871
In this city, of Scarlet Fever, on Monday evening, the 271һ inst., Hattie Waller, daughter Of S. Н. Waller, aged 6 years.
The deceased was a very bright and amiable child, and most interesting pupil of our public
schools as well as of the Reformed Church Sunday school. Her sickness was of but a few days. continuance, and her death is to her parents all the more severe, from following so soon after the loss of their boy Willie, whose death by drowning was noticed in the Journal Тһey have the sinceге sympathy of the community in their sorrow.

Young Man Dies-
Carl Watkins, 18 years old, died Monday morning at 5:00 o'clock at Welcome Inn cottage, Fine lake, of heart trouble. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Watkins, of this city and two sisters, Miss Lila Watkins and Miss Ellen Watkins, both of whom live at home. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 from the Hebble chapel. Rev. R. L. Webb will officiate and interment will be accorded in Oak Hill cemetery.
WATTS, CORNELIA - The Battle Creek Enquirer, Sunday, July 11, 1909
Cornelia, the eight-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waynard Watts, of this city, died Friday afternoon at the Blakeslee cottage Greenbush, Mich., death resulting from whooping cough. The remains were brought to this city early this morning via the Grand Trunk and taken to the residence of the grand. parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Watts, 55 Groveland street. from which place funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, Rev. Wm. S. Potter officiating. Intenment will be given in Oak Hill cemetery
WATTS, ELLA - Battle Creek Daily Journal, Monday, February 28, 1876
Death of Mrs. Watts.
Μrs. J. J. died at her residence on Main street on Sunday, at half past eleven o'clock, of heart disease, aged thirty-nine years. The deceased has been in poor health for some time, but her condition excited no apprehensions until last Saturday morning. She leaves two children to mourn their loss, their a son and a daughter. Her husband, J. J. Watts, has been dead just ten year, and since his death Mrs. J. J. Watts has for the most of the time lived with her sister, Mrs. Theodore Wakelee. The funeral will be held at her late residence on Main street at one o'clock tomorrow afternoon

WATTS, HENRY - Battle Creek Daily Journal, Monday, January 29, 1906
Henry Watts, a Battle Creek pioneer and for many years a shoemaker of the city, died Sunday morning in Marshall, where he has been making his home for some time. He was 88 years of age, and is survived by several nephews and nieces, two nephews, J. C. and William Watts, residing in this city. The funeral will be held from Caldwell's undertaking parlor at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Wm. S. Potter officiating. Burial at Oakhill.
WEBSTER, JENNIE - Battle Creek Daily Moon, Monday, April 27, 1903
Mrs. Jennie Webster died at three o'clock Sunday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. George Forker at 85 Battle Creek avenue. She had been ill for some time. Mrs. Webster was 47 years of age. and is survived by two daughters and a son. She was a member of the International Congress. The funeral services will be held at the above address at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. W. S. Potter will officiate. The interment will be made at Oak Hill cemetery.
WOODCOCK, ALAUSON - Battle Creek Daily Moon, March 9, 1903
FOUND DEAD IN CHAIR
A. M. Woodcock Expires Alone and Without Warning – The Funeral.
Alanson M. Woodcock was found dead in a chair at his home, 302 North Washington avenue, late Saturday afternoon, by Cajor B, Holt and Lewis B. Redner, who were looking d through the neighborhood for a house to rent. They applied at Mr. Woodcock's home, where they saw from the window his lifeless body in a rocking chair. A book upon his lap gave evidence of his occupation at the time of death. The oil from the lamp had burned out. It was found that he was about the place as usual Friday afternoon, and death must have come during Friday night or early Saturday morning. The discovery was made known to the police, who in turn apprised Coroner Merritt of the death. A coroner's jury was impaneled consisting of a John H. Williams, Charles Markley, A. O. Penfield, R. N. Percy, John Cronk, and Fay B. Green.
The jury, with the coroner and Under Sheriff Annis, adjourned to the house and viewed the remains. An adjournment was taken to Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. The remains were removed to Caldwell's undertakIng rooms.
Chief Farrington immediately took steps to inform the relatives of the deceased, sending a message to Pearl Searl of Vassar, Mrs. A. O. Bradshaw of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Charles * Hamilton of Scots. Mr. Woodcock was a veteran of the Civil war. He served in the First Michigan cavalry. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from Spiritualist hall. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery.
