CRAWFORD, MCDONALD, WRIGHT posted by Rusty (Ruth E.) Dameron on Tuesday, April 15, 1997

I have some information that indicates my GGG Grandfather, Amos S. WRIGHT owned land in Ionia County, MI. Amos S. Wright, Sr., born cir. 1823 and married to Amanda McDonald and Josephine Crawford. One of his sons was Hiram K. Wright who married Martha Perkins, daughter of Joel Perkins. Hiram was my GG Grandfather. After record of the marriage of Hiram & Martha, I loose track of Hiram completely. Amos and family accompanied by Martha and her son Charles E. move to Nebraska. About 1879 court records show that Amos' land was foreclosed on, but he is no longer living in Nebraska and cannot respond to the action. Social Security records I have show persons with the same names as his sons, Norton, Nels, Herbert, Orrin, receiving SS benefits in Michigan. It was my suspicion that Amos may have moved back to Michigan. I would be glad to reimburse anyone for their time and copy charges to obtain any information on these people.

BROAD posted by Kathy Knall on Wednesday, April 16, 1997

I had a great uncle, Charles Broad, who died in the Pere Marquette railroad crash that killed so many Ionia citizens in 1907. I have a Sesquicentenniel Edition of the Ionia Sentinel Standard that published some of the news regarding that crash. However, do you know of anyone who might have more info on the crash? I would love to have a photo of my uncle and thought perhaps the paper later published pictures of the crash victims. Thanks.

MILLER, MINER, RICHARDSON posted by Albert Richardson on Saturday, April 26, 1997

Thank you for your great work! My name is Albert Richardson. I am a descendant of the Richardson and Miner families. Although the Richardsons appear to have lived in Carson City in Montcalm Co., A branch of the Miner family lived in Hubbardston sometime between 1880-1920. My Grandmother, Carrie Isabelle (Miner) Richardson, left an autograph book she collected in her childhood (1883-1887) which includes a Miller family also of Hubbardston.I live in California and I have never visited Michigan. I am not familiar with the townships and communities in Ionia Co., although I am learning about a few of them.

MCLEOD, ROWLEY posted by Richard Rowley on Tuesday, April 29, 1997

I was raised on a farm in Easton twp and still have many relatives living there. In fact my sister in law is the twp clerk in Easton twp. Many of my ancestors are buried in Easton Cemetary and also have an ancestor Henry ROWLEY buried in the Orleans twp cemetary. I have just recently started doing some Genealogical research on the Rowley's and WORDENs. I have found the Rowley Genealogy on the Web and also joined the Worden association to add more sources on my Worden ancestors.I also have an ancestor George MCLEOD who came to the county in the early 1800's. I am a member of the Clan MacLeod Society, Regional Vice President. My cousin, Coralane Boyes, who lives in Ionia is also a member and officer of the society.I guess what I am doing is saying hello and am wondering how or if could be of any assistance.Sincerely, Richard W Rowley
